7 Day Cape York Fly / Drive Camping Safari
Description
Day 1 Cairns - Thursday Island - Cape York.
We transfer you to Cairns airport for your flight to Thursday Island. This flight provides spectacular views of the Coral Sea and The Great Barrier Reef and the uninhabited East Coast wilderness of Cape York Peninsula. On Arrival you will be taken on a informative guided bus tour of the island before boarding a ferry transfer to the mainland, where your guide will meet you and take you to Seisia. Seisia is the location for our next few days
Day 2 Cape York - Somerset (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
An unforgettable day! Stand at the very top of mainland Australia. We Then visit Somerset. (Road Conditions Permitted) We have lunch on the palm fringed Anchorage Beach, which overlooks the Albany Passage. A walk on the beach will complete your day before returning to base.
Day 3 Cape York - Fruitbat Falls - Bramwell Station (BLD)
We head south and cross the Jardine River stopping at Fruitbat falls. Then we head off to a 'true blue, Aussie' cattle station, Bramwell Station.
Day 4 Bramwell - Weipa (BD)
A southerly run through the wilderness with all it''s varied landscapes to cross the Wenlock River. We head for the shores of the Gulf of Carpentaria and our overnight stop at Weipa,
Day 5 Weipa - Musgrave (BLD)
We continue south, stopping off at the picturesque Archer River, then on to the historic frontier gold town of Coen. The afternoon finds us arriving at the Old Musgrave Telegraph Station.
Day 6 Musgrave - Lakefield Park - Cooktown (BLD)
we head east towards Princess Charlotte Bay where we traverse the entire length of Lakefield National Park. We then continue on to Old Laura Homestead and then cross the Battle Camp Range. This afternoon we explore the old gold
port of Cooktown.
Day 7 Cooktown - Cairns (BL)
We make our way south passing the mysterious Black Mountain and the historic Lions Den Hotel. Traversing the jungle shrouded Bloomfield Track. We then retrn you to your accomodation in Cairns.
